At
Mount Eliza Cheese, we have created a small artisan
creamery where we specialise in making traditional hard
rinded cheeses. They are hand made in an open vat and
cloth bound, then matured for up to a year or longer.
Chris
Whalley, originally from Cheshire, worked as an
industrial chemist before training as a cheese maker in
the UK. Looking for a change of lifestyle, he moved
back to NZ in 2006 with his family, NZ wife, Jill and
children Rebecca and Owen. The family bought 10 acres of
land near Katikati, and Mount Eliza Cheese was
established in 2007. |
